The Idolatry of Modesty

The Idolatry of Modesty

I found this while perusing the internet the other day and wanted to share. Bethke, the author, discusses how important modesty has become for women in the Church. He argues that the stress to dress modestly has reached an unhealthy level. Some examples he uses are a bit extreme, but make a good point. Has modesty become an idol in the Church? His closing statement really pierces the heart of the issue:

So, ladies, let our Savior’s grace, rather than your righteousness, be exalted through your dress.

I hope you appreciate this as much as I did. Have a wonderful week!
